BMW Service with Proactive Care is our service promise to detect and inform you about all maintenance requirements or function failures in your BMW at an early stage – to give you the best possible care. Sensors in the vehicle automatically detect the need for a service or possible function failures and transmit them directly to BMW. We will then proactively contact you by a push notification in the My BMW app, email or by sending a message directly to your vehicle. In urgent cases, you will receive a phone call.

We need your current contact details to ensure that you benefit from all the advantages of Proactive Care. That way, we can contact you when we need to. Please also make sure that you have consented to our use of your data and that your BMW is registered to your ConnectedDrive account. This is the only way we can offer you comprehensive and tailor-made support.

Condition Based Service is part of Proactive Care. It is therefore a key element of our service pledge to you, to detect function failures and maintenance requirements with your BMW at an early stage. BMW discontinued fixed service intervals in 1982 and replaced them with servicing based on the vehicle's condition. Sensors and special algorithms take into account your BMW's different operating conditions.

The control display shows you the mileage and times remaining before selected maintenance work is required, as well as any statutory inspections:

  • Engine oil
  • Brake pads: front and rear separately
  • Brake fluid
  • Vehicle check
  • Statutory inspections, depending on local regulations
  • Diesel particulate filter

Proactive Care is available for all BMW models with BMW Operating System 7 (from version 07/2019) or later. To enjoy the full extent of Proactive Care services for your BMW, you will need an active BMW ConnectedDrive account for your BMW and your vehicle must be added to your BMW ID in the My BMW app or on the My BMW portal. Please add your current phone number and email address plus your preferred BMW Dealer to your personal details in your BMW ID. Please also remember to consent to the Privacy Policy for the transmission of your vehicle data in the vehicle ("Ensure Mobility" and "Smart Maintenance"). What's more, to make contact even easier, simply enable push notifications in the My BMW app.
